These include afforestation at various scales, eco-landscaping, individual and community plantations, terrace gardens, lake rejuvenation, green consultation for corporates, and much more. His clients range from individuals and households to corporations and government bodies.
The engineer-turned-green warrior has so far afforested over 400 hectares of land in both public and private properties, with a survival rate of over 95%. Having grown up on a family farm in Shimoga, and with a flourishing business in medicinal plants, he started the Go Green Bangalore initiative in
2009.This was shortly followed by the launch of Indus Herbs — a store for various herbs, spices and oils.
With a steadfast 250-member strong staff, he has led tree plantations which have helped raise water levels in many lakes. In addition to Bangalore, the cities of Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai now collaborate with him on greening and lake projects, which involve cleaning, planting, such as with wetlands and floating islands, and maintenance.
Parks in residential areas have dozens of species of birds and butterflies flying through, thanks to Ravindra’s diverse choice of flora. Numerous parks and lakes owe their green cover to this conservationist, who believes nurturing plants is just as important as knowing which ones to grow. His conceptual gardens include Saraswati Vana, Navagraha Vana, Panchavati, Nakshatra Vana, Raashi Vana, (chitte Vana) butterfly parks etc.
The Indus Nursery at Uttarhalli Bangalore, owned by Raveendra has many varieties of plants, including floral, medicinal, and fruiting plants.
